Education: Associates Degree preferred
Windham Central Supervisory Union located in Windham County, Vermont is seeking enthusiastic applicants for the Technology Assistant position. Applicants must be great communicators, have enthusiasm for working with students and teachers, and must be willing to work with and to support students, teachers, and administration on a variety of academic and school related projects.
The IT Assistant will support all aspects of the information technology operations in the Supervisory Union. The primary responsibilities of this position include greeting customers as they enter the IT office, triage and respond quickly to requests for hardware and software technology support from teachers, and to assist with the integration of technology into instruction.
This position requires supporting teachers, students and staff, including at the classroom level and up through the administrative offices in a multi-platform fast-paced working environment. This position will require lifting heavy items up to and above 30lbs regularly, using a ladder to access certain equipment and wiring, and using a variety of hand tools. This position will also require traveling between schools during the school day (reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required) to respond to issues as they arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support teachers’ use of computers and technology for instruction
- Installation of various classroom technology
- Provide training for staff as needed
- Support cyclical maintenance schedule for technology in the schools
- Complete tech work orders through ticketing system
- Coordinate purchasing
- Supervise co-op and independent study students as needed
- Manage google apps domain as needed
- Chromebook Hardware support
- Other duties as assigned
Hardware and software skills desired:
- Experience with various printing platforms
- Google Apps for Education
- ChromeOS , Windows, and Mac OS
- Microsoft Office suite
- Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with state and local testing environments
