NewBrook Elementary School is one of two K-5 elementary schools in the West River Educational District. We are in Newfane, Vermont and we serve 79 students, one classroom per grade. Our school benefits from an excellent staff and a supportive community. As a rule, NewBrook students are resilient, hardworking and curious and their families are involved in their school lives. Our staff is dedicated, child-centered and well-trained; they work together with purpose and are devoted to their jobs and to the children and families that we serve. We offer a wide and balanced array of specials classes and have a dedicated PTO, an active Farm-to-School program (that includes a substantial vegetable garden) and excellent after-school programming. Our teachers habitually incorporate technology in the classroom and our students benefit from 1:1 computing. We benefit from a four acre solar array on our property, and we heat and cool our building with electric air-to-air heat pumps.
We are currently seeking a dynamic, innovative and energetic para-educator, who will hired in support of our grade 2 and grade 3 classrooms. We will schedule this person as efficiently as we can in support of our priorities areas, and including the following:
- Supporting universal instruction, as well as targeted intervention, within our grades two and three classrooms, in both math and ELA
- Supporting the integration of a new teacher into our grade two classroom
The position will remain open until a qualified candidate is chosen, however, we will begin the second phase of our process on November 18. To be considered in our pool of applicants, one must apply through schoolspring. Thank you for you interest in NewBrook Elementary School.
